Back again with another unscripted conversation that quickly has a mind of its own. This week I'm joined in studio with Jesus and Lyrical from TFTI. You haven't seen them on Uncorked yet but it's coming. I stopped by CasaRita for recording cocktails and they maybe to blame for this episode bouncing around. Podcasts & PBR is coming back for round 2 this year! So save the date for Wednesday, May 10th at Cowtown Coliseum. We have some actual surprises in store from PBR as well. Come find out if I mean the beer or bull riding for yourself! Have we all collectively had a bad Buffalo Wild Wings experience? Also, the ice cream machine at McDonalds, we have beef. I ask the guys what it's like being dads and how they are trying to break generational curses: since we all have childhood trauma. These boys are the source for movie and music news so I had to ask if they had heard about CERN. (Thanks Daddy Paul) Little did we know my curiosity of multiverses in movies, and potentially real life would lead to a conversation none of us prepared for. Regardless of your opinion I encourage you to listen to this full episode (yes it's longer than most) and focus on how we are able to listen to each other. Ask questions. And respect each others opinions. I know it's 2023, but it is possible to keep an open mind these days, and more importantly and open heart.

The Good, Bad and Freaky

Wednesday Apr 05, 2023
I'm in my happy things - positive girl era, and ya'll just want tea and drama. But I love ya'll so guess what, you got it. First I'm frustrated by people still using others for personal gain, and people being held accountable. And I really want ya'lls thoughts on this and why you don't speak up in scenarios. A local influencer has re-emerged after a brief hiatus and guess what, they still haven't changed their ways. I'd share the name but it's just so not worth it. If you have TikTok I'd suggest searching Fort Worth, because my gosh there is some drama at city council meetings. Do you think we could take cocktails inside? One council member has major drama surrounding them but it seems like all the "little" things keep getting swept under the rug. However, this just tells them that they'll be allowed to continue getting away with more if not stopped. Remember what I said about recognizing patterns? Our mayor walked out of meeting, does that make the city look weak? Oh yeah, and ya'll remember Sundance Square...well start looking for more cameras and not where you think.
Finally Daddy Paul joins me in studio and ya'll had some questions for him and they did not disappoint. Plus, we go down a TikTok rabbit hole that leaves me incredibly disturbed. And finally I talk about upcoming events and things that have made me happy recently. Followed by some realizations because ya'll know I love making things relatable for everyone. Hope you have a drink ready...

The Funky Corks Forever

Wednesday Mar 29, 2023
Well it's the trio no one asked for but everybody needs! The pod squad trinity of Robyn, Chad and Jourdyne! Did we do brunch before this episode, yep, and did we continue brunch cocktails in studio with Daddy Paul, YEP! Of course the distraction and roasting of each other starts early and really we fill you in on what all of us have been up to together. Yes, we're actually friends and hangout outside of just recording. So much so that we went to Mexico and Broken Bow together! Have ya'll heard about BORGS? What size bag do you take for a weekend trip? I really need ya'll to watch: CUNK on Earth, because it might have been the cocktails but I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time! Jourdyne tried to join the circus, and almost lost her elbow. And Chad teaches us about a pan flute?? Who wants to go to Vegas with us? And are ya'll ready for Podcasts + PBR 2.0? Buckle up, big things are coming!

Goud Butt

Tuesday Mar 21, 2023
You've heard me talk about Chef Scotty Scott for years now, and we finally found the time to sit down over mimosas and really catch up. Ya'll this man does it all. And does it WELL. Between finding that perfect family - work balance, launching a cookbook, starting a food truck (which is secretly want to keep to myself) and now more is on the horizon for Mr. CookDrankEat himself. Can we add TacoSexual as a way to identify? Also, how does this man actually always know what I want to eat before I do? Scotty shares what national show he visited felt the most welcoming and tells me a story about him almost setting my kitchen on fire...I had no idea. When it came to finding love, did Scotty take a cheesy approach...helping to predict the future? Big things keep landing in the lap of this Chef, but good help is still hard to find. No matter the challenges though Scotty faces them head on and puts his own twist on things, and isn't stopping anytime soon. He even expanded hours for Cheezy Does It already! And with that said, who wants to go? No literally I need a Goud Butt and Cucumber Salad stat...

Dope Women

Mia Moss, the coffee boss, at Black Coffee finally made it in the studio! You got a brief teaser about her when I teamed up with The Funky Panther boys, but now it's time for girl talk. Did ya'll know there's a coffee school? I'm fascinated by latte art, and honestly so is Mia. Some of our journeys in life start as just wanting to be the person that helps people. Which then turns into helping our community via a place to go work, a place to relax, a place for a cup of coffee, and a place to run into friends. Speaking of friends, I get the tea about the Coff-ia Mafia, the Pod Squad is really gonna need a rebrand. International Women's Day may have just passed, but the importance of female friendships never will. Mia shares a juggling analogy that everyone needs when it comes to balancing life. Women truly are amazing when it comes to filling everyones cup. When it comes to being a mom, teaching young boys to respect women is a priority, and if they aren't talking to their parents, the aunts and uncles step in. We talk about many of the dope women in Fort Worth that you should be following, and how local events help highlight not only causes, but the people behind them. These are the people who prove they are about action and not just words. You can catch Mia at Black Coffee or around town, but you should really come to the Community Frontline Kickback on March 25th to meet this amazing woman and so many others. Now what type of coffee should I get...

Unleashing The Beast
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
If you haven't heard of Beast & Company by now, you are most likely living my dream of being a doomsday prepper and don't have service in your bunker. Anyways, Chef Dustin Lee, Owner & Chef joins me to clear the air about some recent social media rumblings and we cover it all. Not only did Chef Dustin start in oil & gas, but he is also a self taught chef. His job allowed him to travel across the world which helped inspire his dream of opening a restaurant, especially when given the opportunity to learn cooking techniques across the world. We pop a bottle of his favorite wine, which honestly went down a little too easy, while he shared why Indian food is his favorite to make. What's your risk factor level? And what risks are worth taking? Ya'll means all in Fort Worth, so why would a Fort Worth media personality try to stir the pot with a newer restaurant in the scene. And by the way, is there beef in the Fort Worth food scene? Ya'll good? You know I had to ask the questions no one wants to, so we talk bad reviews and what is being done to address customer concerns. Which you'll learn is mostly just a lack of education and knowledge that Chef Dustin shares. Texans are used to LARGE portions, but that doesn't necessarily translate when the focus is quality and locally sourced produce. Oh yeah, and we talk about wine, because who doesn't want to talk about wine especially while enjoying some. I'm gonna let ya'll listen to this episode and make your own judgments, but personally I'm ready to make a reservation.

Pasta & Hump?
Wednesday Mar 01, 2023
Wednesday Mar 01, 2023
WELL...this episode got delayed because full transparency Dank and I partook in some edibles before recording and we needed some slight edits. Thanks Daddy Paul. If you don't know Dank817 from Uncorked, you're about to get a chaotic highlight reel. Not only is Dank the fastest rapper in Fort Worth, but I'd say he is our cities Theo Von because you literally never know what a story will hold! We discuss who our ideal smoking buddy would be and the high thoughts kick in rather quickly. Dank was dubbed a certified lover boy via Forever Reckless, however is a self proclaimed liar. Which is why I obviously had to get his perspective on many topics the ladies wanted answered! Is the one that got away a real thing? And what's wrong with dating older women? Stick around for the full episode to also hear what events Dank and his friends have going on, and to hear why now he's taking rapping more seriously. Catch Dank's song EVERY DAY dropping on 3/6 and Too High Taqueria 3/25!

Get ready to laugh because it's Fort Worth's 10th Annual Meeting and I teamed up with The Funky Panther boys! Did I wake up at 4:30am, yes. But I looked cute thank to lounge seating provided by Loot Rentals, and obviously we sounded great thanks to NEXM Creative. Javier is the first to spot keynote speaker Mo Rocca, but gets a little shy. Listen to our interviews with Daddy Paul, Sunflowerman, Mia Moss (who tells us about the local mafia), Theresa Davis, Franklin Moss, and Lou Charles! Pinnacle Bank had us throwing out some insane ideas for what the surprise at the end of the event would be, and honestly one of us got pretty close. We get pumped up for the Tim Love After Party, and discuss how a TCU loss might make you slip during dry January. We admire the style of Fort Worth's finest, and of course roast each other at every opportunity possible. But overall we were beyond thrilled to be a part of this years annual meeting thanks to Visit Fort Worth. Seriously thank ya'll so much. Damn I love this city.

What’s Love Got To Do With It
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Meet Katie. Katie was my server on a girls night out, and quickly turned into a friend. So much so that I invited her onto the podcast because we had so much to discuss. We chat about quality conversations, and why people yearn for connection through words. The service industry is as chaotic as ever, and yes your server knows if you're on a first date. Covid put Katie on a different path for the better, funny how life works out. Sometimes life has a way of giving you what you needed when you had other plans. We dive into all types of dating arrangements you find online, and I share a story about extremely fragile male egos. Do you have to play the game to find love? And who made the rules? Not to mention the times our friends and family try to guide us, but maybe we didn't listen.

Theories, Rants & Rambling
Thursday Feb 02, 2023
Thursday Feb 02, 2023
Daddy Paul is back with a new hairdo and has become an influencer. We discuss the concept of time, and wonder if we're already dead. Ya'll know Earth is bigger than we think right? And the UFOs...We become history professors as we talk Pompeii & pyramids. And it's crazy how small we truly are in this big world. It's okay to be scared of things you don't understand, and it's okay to fail. The rants come in hot at the end, we discuss headlines and news stories and how someones character means more than their personal preferences. Really we want people to stop judging if it's not harming someone else. But more importantly should I fake a proposal on Valentines Day?
Episode Recorded January 26, 2023
